Ingo Metzmacher

For the following two seasons, he was principal conductor with Dutch National Opera. From 2007 to 2010, he was principal conductor and artistic director of the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin. In 2016, he was appointed administrator of the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen in Hanover. Engagements have taken him to the Salzburger Festspiele, the Holland Festival, the Grand Théâtre Genève, ROH Covent Garden, Opernhaus Zürich, La Scala, Teatro Real, the Wiener Staatsoper and the Staatsoper Berlin. Ingo Metzmacher has conducted the Wiener, Berliner and Münchner Philharmoniker, the Orchestre de Paris, BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester. Recent and future: Ariadne auf Naxos (Berlin), Die Eroberung von Mexico (Salzburger Festspiele), Die Jakobsleiter (Berliner Festspiele), Prometeo (Ruhrtriennale, Philharmonie de Paris), Wozzeck (Milan), Capriccio (Paris) and Jenůfa (Wiener Staatsoper).
