Georg Zlabinger

Stage director

Georg Zlabinger studied Literary Studies at the University of Vienna. He has been an in-house director at Theater an der Wien since 2014, where he has collaborated with many directors, including Andrea Breth, Keith Warner, Torsten Fischer, and Tatjana Gürbaca. Among others, he has worked for the Bregenzer and Salzburg Festivals, Dutch National Opera, The Finnish National Opera, and Teatro Real Madrid. As assistant and co-director, he maintains a tight artistic relationship with Christof Loy. Based on a concept by Loy, he directed Luisa Miller for the Glyndebourne Festival in 2021. He has also directed Il Giasone, The Lighthouse, Don Giovanni Last Minute, and Yevgeny Onjegin.
