Conductor

Italian conductor Enrique Mazzola is Music Director at the Lyric Opera of Chicago and Principal Guest Conductor at Deutsche Oper Berlin. In 2022 he was appointed the first Conductor in Residence at the Bregenzer Festspiele. This season Mazzola will be the conductor of amongst others Verdi’s Ernani Don Carlos, Rossini’s Le comte Ory, Massenet’s Hérodiade in concert, and a gala performance for the premiere of Kevin Puts’ The Brightness of Light with Renée Fleming and Rod Gilfry at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Mazolla also conducts symphonic projects with Orchestre National de France, Detroit Symphony and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Recently he returned to Opernhaus Zürich, conducting Donizetti’s Roberto Devereux. Previous appearances with Dutch National Opera include Donizetti Queens in Concert in 2021 and Anna Bolena (Tudor Trilogy I) in 2022.

May 2023 Enrique Mazzola led the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra in the opera Maria Stuarda (Tudor Trilogy II) at Dutch National Opera, in April-May 2024 he will lead the same orchestra in the opera Roberto Devereux (Tudor Trilogy III).
