Efe Erdem

After studying at the Hacettepe Conservatory in Ankara, the Turkish trombonist Efe Erdem graduated from Codarts in Rotterdam under the supervision of Bart van Lier and Ilja Reingoud. In his work, he often combines music from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries with contemporary music. Some of his regular collaborations are with the Re:Freshed Orchestra, Di-rect, Doe Maar and Anouk, but he has also worked with various international names such as O'Jays, Marcus Miller, Benny Golson, Tony Allen, Knower, band members of the Rolling Stones, Snarky Puppy, Roy Hargrove, Bilal and Robert Glasper. He recently recorded an album with American jazz and soul singer Frank McComb. In 2019, he was selected for The Pack Project, in which young top talent musicians in Rotterdam form a band and create new compositions. With The Pack Project, Erdem released the album Three4.
