Clément Rataud
The Frenchman Clément Rataud is to date the only former student of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse (CNSMD) in Paris to have obtained master’s degrees in both piano and dance. As a concert pianist, he has performed in various venues in Paris as well as at festivals in France, Italy and Sweden. As a choreographer, Rataud created a work to Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue for fourteen dancers and orchestra. He has also been involved in multidisciplinary projects that bring together music and dance.
After winning first prize in the pianist-accompanist competition of the Opéra national de Paris, Rataud regularly accompanied classes and performances of the École de Danse de l’Opéra national de Paris, the CNSMD and the Ballet de l’Opéra national de Paris. He also worked as vocal coach for the dancers’ rehearsals of Pulcinella at the Opéra Comique.
In the spring of 2025, Rataud worked as guest pianist with Dutch National Ballet. From the 2025–2026 season onwards, he has been engaged as a permanent pianist with the company.
