Daniel Zholdak

Daniel Zholdak studied at the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture in Kiev, where he focused on painting and costume design. In his art and set designs he is inspired by Italian Renaissance art, as well as by modern art and video art. He made stage designs for, among others, the Radu Stanca National Theatre in Sibiu in Romania, the National Theatre Marin Sorescu in Craiova, Romania, and the Wiener Festwochen. In the field of opera, he created set designs and film images and collaborated extensively with Andriy Zholdak, including for the Mikhailovsky Theater in St. Petersburg, Teatr Wielki, Theater Freiburg, Festival d'Aix-en-Provence and Opéra de Lyon.
