Sebia Plantefève-Castryck (Adama, Ethiopia) was adopted at the age of four by a large Belgian family from the Flemish village of Kester, where four of her sisters were already dancing. When she was six, she started going to classes at the Ballerino dance school in Halle, and already at the age of ten she took part in the Youth America Grand Prix. Three years later, she was accepted for the Tanz Akademie Zürich in Switzerland, from which she graduated when she was sixteen. She continued her training for an extra year at the European School of Ballet in Amsterdam, during which time she also had the opportunity to perform at galas in Italy and Germany. In 2019, Sebia joined the Dutch National Ballet’s Junior Company, moving up to the main company two years later in the rank of élève. She has been a member of the corps de ballet since 2022.

As an extra she followed a year of studies at the European School of Ballet in Amsterdam where she got the chance to perform during gala’s in Italy and Germany.
