Lighting designer

Brad Fields was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, and graduated in 1987 from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. In 1995, he joined American Ballet Theatre, where he designed lighting for more than thirty ballets, including works by Christopher Wheeldon, Benjamin Millepied, Twyla Tharp, and Cathy Marston. He also created the lighting designs for Alexei Ratmansky’s The Bright Stream, On the Dnieper, Seven Sonatas, and Firebird.

Additionally, Fields regularly collaborates with Spanish choreographer Nacho Duato and creates lighting designs for ballet and modern dance companies worldwide, including The Australian Ballet, Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, San Francisco Ballet, and Nederlands Dans Theater.
