Antonio Cuenca Ruiz

Dramaturge

Antonio Cuenza Ruiz studied performing arts at the École normale supérieure in Lyon and graduated in philosophy from the University of Nanterre. He was dramaturge in Brussels until 2019. He worked with Peter Sellars on La clemenza di Tito and Idomeneo - both at the Salzburg Festival, as well as Kopernikus in 2018 at the Festival d'Automne à Paris. Some of his recent projects include FAUST [working title], created in collaboration with Lisenka Heijboer Castañón and Manoj Kamps at Dutch National Opera, The Fiery Angel, directed by Andrea Breth, the premiere of Kris Defoort's opera The Time of Our Singing directed by Ted Huffman, as well as the oratorio Juditha Triumphans and Combattimento, The Theory of the Black Swan, both directed by Silvia Costa. This summer he will work with Ted Huffman on Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence.
