Anouar Brissel

Video designer

Anouar Brissel is a self-taught video artist. His creations incorporate influences from his other passions, such as drawing and composing.

Brissel has designed video scenography for various opera productions. He collaborated with director Jean Romain Vesperini on Gianni Schicchi, L’elisir d’amore, and Don Pasquale (2021–2023, Festival Napa Valley) and created the video design for Une autre histoire de Manon, directed by Claire Manjarrès (L’Opéra de Saint-Étienne) in 2023. Together with director James Bonas and visual artist Grégoire Pont, Brissel worked on productions such as L’heure espagnole, L’Enfant et les sortilèges, and Der Mond (Opéra National de Lyon), as well as The Snow Queen (Opéra national du Rhin).

In addition, Brissel has contributed to various dance productions, including Boléro by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Damien Jalet (Grand Théâtre de Genève), Emma Bovary by Helen Pickett and James Bonas (The National Ballet of Canada), and A Kiss to the World by Dominique Dumais (Ballett am Rhein). His work was also featured in 2023 in performances of The Rite of Spring by the Aurora Orchestra at the BBC Proms and in the Musiikkitalo concert hall in Helsinki.
