Andrew Lieberman is an American lighting and set designer whose designs have been seen in many major opera houses such as English National Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, Oper Zürich, Royal Danish Opera, New York City Opera, San Francisco Opera and Montreal Opera. He was part of the creative team for Handel's Partenope, which received the Olivier Award for Best New Opera Production in 2009 and the Australian Helpann Award for Best Opera in 2010. Andrew is also a winner of the Princess Grace USA Fabergé Theatre Award. From 2008- 2019 Andrew was at New York University Tisch School of the Arts as Professor and Head of Set Design. Highlights include his set designs for operas such as Luisa Miller (English National Opera, Oper Wuppertal); Noura (Shakespeare Theater, NYU Abu Dhabi, Playwrights Horizons); Don Carlo (Washington National Opera, Opéra de Philadelphie); Othello (New York Theater Workshop); Il turco in Italia (Festival d'Aix- enProvence, Opéra de Dijon, Teatro Regio deTorino, Polish National Opera) and Ariadne auf Naxos (Virginia Opera). March 2022 he was at Dutch National Opera for the lighting and set design of Denis and Katya.
