Wout van Tongeren

Wout van Tongeren studied theatre and philosophy at ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem, Utrecht University and Radboud University. He has worked as a dramaturg for Silbersee and Opera Zuid (Die Zauberflöte and Bluebeard's Castle), among others. He joined Dutch National Opera & Ballet in 2017 as a dramaturge and was appointed Head of Dramaturgy in September 2025. At Dutch National Opera, he was involved as the dramaturge for productions including How Anansi freed the stories of the world (2021 and 2025), Lennox and Animal Farm.
