Thando Mjandana

South African tenor Thando Mjandana was a member of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme Anniversary Company at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden for the 2021/22 season. Mjandana’s recent highlights include performances at Royal Opera House as Philistine messenger in a new production of Samson et Dalila, Noble of Brabant Lohengrin and Gastone de Letorières La traviata. Moreover, Mjandana repertoire includes other opera roles such as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni with Oxford Sinfonia, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore at Waterperry Opera Festival, Odoardo in Ariodante at Royal Opera House, Tamino in The Magic Flute, Pedrillo in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Remendado in Carmen and Don Basillo in in Le nozze di figaro at Cape Town Opera and most recently Caliban in a world premiere of Georg Haas’ Sycorrax at Bühen Bern. At Dutch National opera, he already performed the roles of Crabman in Porgy and Bess (2018/2019)
