Gyula Orendt
The Hungarian baritone Gyula Orendt was a member of Staatsoper Berlin’s Opera Studio and he has since sung roles such as Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Guglielmo (Così fan tutte), Papageno (Die Zauberflöte), Zurga (Les pêcheurs de Perles) and Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia). He has worked in Berlin with leading conductors such as Daniel Barenboim and Sir Simon Rattle. He has also performed at opera houses including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Teatro Real in Madrid and the Teatro del Liceu in Barcelona, as well as at the Glyndebourne and Aix-en-Provence festivals. At Dutch National Opera, he previously took on the roles of Gaveston/Stranger in Lessons in Love and Violence (2018) and Il Poeta in Le lacrime di Eros (2024).
