Mexican baritone Germán Olvera made his opera debut with the Mexican National Opera in 2013 as Escamillo in Carmen. Other operatic roles include Eisenhardt (Die Soldaten), Girolamo (Bomarzo), Malatesta (Don Pasquale) and Silvio (I Pagliacci) for companies such as Teatro Real, Nederlandse Reisopera, Liceu Barcelona, Opera de Oviedo and Palau de les Arts Valencia. In 2019, Germán joined the ensemble of the Staatsoper Hannover, where he has performed Don Giovanni, Escamillo (Carmen), Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Belcore (L'elisir d'amore), Marcello (La bohème) and Count Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro). With the latter role, Olvera also made his debut at the Glyndebourne Festival. Olvera makes his DNO debut in 2022 with Turandot.
