Germán Olvera

The Mexican baritone Germán Olvera made his opera debut in 2013 at the Mexican National Opera as Escamillo in Carmen. He was a member of the ensemble of soloists at Hannover State Opera, where he sang roles such as Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Marcello in La bohème and Conte di Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro. He also recently sang at the Teatro Real in Madrid, with the Concertgebouw Orchestra and at the Glyndebourne Festival, where he will be returning later this season. At Dutch National Opera, he previously sang the roles of Ping and Un mandarino in Turandot (2022), Boxer in Animal Farm (2023) and Seven in We Are The Lucky Ones (2025).

Season 2025-2026
From 4 to 28 June 2026, Germán Olvera will perform the role of Paolo Albiani in Simon Boccanegra at Dutch National Opera & Ballet.
