The American tenor Frederick Ballentine took part in the young artist programmes of Washington National Opera and Los Angeles Opera. Recent high points have been roles as Remendado in Carmen and Tybalt in Roméo et Juliette at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Loge in Das Rheingold at English National Opera and Seattle Opera and Die Knusperhexe in Hänsel und Gretel at Utah Opera. He also recently made his debut with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. At Dutch National Opera, he previously sang the role of Sportin’ Life in Porgy and Bess (2019).
