David van Laar

After doing a Bachelor’s degree as an organist, countertenor David van Laar trained as a singer with Hanneke de Wit at the Prince Claus Conservatoire (Bachelor’s) and at the Conservatoire in Amsterdam (Master’s). He is currently being coached by Margreet Honig. Van Laar has sung as a soloist with ensembles including Vox Luminis, the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Phion, Orkest van het Oosten, the Luthers Bach Ensemble, European Baroque Orchestra Le Chardon, Eik en Linde, Barokopera Amsterdam and the Northern Consort. Van Laar teaches singing and ensembles at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Groningen. He also teaches the soloists of the Roden Girl Choristers.
