Aaike Nortier

Mezzo-soprano

The Dutch mezzo-soprano Aaike Nortier studied at ArtEZ University of the Arts in Zwolle. In 2023, she made her professional debut as an opera singer as Monsieur Triquet in Eugene Onegin at Opera Spanga, where she returned in 2024 to sing Rodrigo in Otello. Nortier has performed in recitals at the Royal Concertgebouw and De Vereeniging, and as a soloist in works by Mozart and Bach. In 2022 she reached the European final of the Lions European Music Competition and in 2024 she won second prize in the Princess Christina Competition. Together with Elles Venhuizen, she tours the Netherlands as the duo Ventier, presenting opera innovatively at festivals.

From the 2025–2026 season, Nortier will be a member of Dutch National Opera Studio. In October 2025, she will appear as Sir Taki in Operetta Land.
