
Sarah Hillmer
Sarah Hillmer has over twenty years of experience as a dancer, rehearsal director, assistant to choreographers, stager, educator, choreographer, and arts administrator.
As a dancer, Hillmer’s company credits include the Atlanta Ballet, glo, and staibdance. From 2013 to 2019, she served as a rehearsal director at Atlanta Ballet, where the artistic relationship with Helen Pickett was forged. She has worked as a stager and assistant for Pickett with companies including Alberta Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Oklahoma City Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Scottish Ballet and Smuin Ballet.
In her home-base of Atlanta, GA, Hillmer is the founder and director of ImmerseATL, a training & mentorship program for emerging dancers. As an arts administrator, Hillmer serves as Executive Director for staibdance, an Atlanta-based contemporary dance company, and as Business Operations Manager for Windmill Arts, an organization dedicated to the advancement of new work in the arts.
Additionally, as a choreographer, Hillmer worked as co-creator alongside George Staib on the original productions of fence (2019) and Dido & Aeneas (2024) for staibdance.
