Librettist

The playwright Nina Segal made her debut in 2016 with In the Night Time (Before the Sun Rises), which had a successful premiere at the Gate Theatre and went on to be performed internationally. It was followed by plays including Big Guns, O, Island! for the Royal Shakespeare Company, Shooting Hedda Gabler for the Rose Theatre and recently the musical The Odyssey (It’s a really, really, really long journey) for the Unicorn Theatre. She has also written for the TV series Hanna and The Crown. She won a Rose D'Or award for her short film CAPTURE and received the 2022 Playwright’s Scheme Award. She is currently an Associate Playwright at the Royal Court Theatre, and she writes for Donmar Warehouse, the English Touring Theatre, the Chichester Festival Theatre and the Royal Opera.
