Jan-Paul Grijpink
Jan-Paul Grijpink (rehearsal director) studied at the conservatoires in Utrecht and Amsterdam, where he specialised in song accompaniment and opera. Following his studies, he worked with Opera Studio Nederland and the Nederlandse Reisopera. He won various awards, including the prize for the best interpretation of the Schubert song, at the ‘Schubert und die Musik der Moderne’ competition in Graz.
He performs regularly with singers like Karin Strobos, Marjolein Niels, Florian Just and Selma Harkink. He has recorded a CD of Schubert’s Schwanengesang along with the American tenor Steven Tharp. Jan-Paul is a member of the musical staff of Dutch National Opera. He also works as a teacher at the Sweelinck Academy in Amsterdam.
