Laura Tosar Romero
Laura Tosar (Havana, Cuba) has been dancing since she was very young. She received her first dance lessons at a local flamenco school, but when that school closed, she joined a different dance school, where she took her first ballet classes.
At the age of nine, Laura joined the Cuban National Ballet School, where she studied full time for eight years and graduated as the top student. When she was seventeen years old, she caught the eye of Li Cunxin, former director of the Queensland Ballet in Brisbane, Australia, who invited her to join his company. Laura accepted and subsequently danced with the Queensland Ballet for over nine years. She rose through the ranks and performed various leading roles, including the title roles in Giselle and Coco Chanel: the Life of a Fashion Icon.
