Sam Carl

The bass-baritone Sam Carl was a member of Dutch National Opera Studio from 2019 to 2021. Since then, his singing roles have included Astradamors in Le Grand Macabre at Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Nick Shadow in The Rake’s Progress and Leporello in Don Giovanni at the Glyndebourne Festival and the title role in Massenet’s Don Quichotte at the Bregenzer Festspiele. He previously returned to Dutch National Opera to sing Der Holzhacker in Königskinder (2022), Talpa in Il tabarro (2024), Betto di Signa in Gianni Schicchi (2024), Hobson in Peter Grimes (2024) and Der Geisterbote in Die Frau ohne Schatten (2025).
