Ying Fang

Soprano

Chinese soprano Ying Fang studied at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and The Juilliard School in New York and is a former member of the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera where she has returned often. She has gained worldwide acclaim for her rich and expressive voice and has sung at the Opéra national de Paris, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Salzburger Festspiele. Her repertoire includes roles such as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Sophie in Werther, and Ilia in Idomeneo. Last season, she made her role debut at Dutch National Opera as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro (2020), and returned for Rossini's Petite messe solennelle (2021), Ännchen in Der Freischütz (2022) and Pamina in Die Zauberflöte (2023).

  • Season 2023 - 2024 Ying Fang returns to the company for no less than two leading roles: Pamina in Die Zauberflöte and Poppea in Handel's Agrippina.
