Mezzo-soprano

The British mezzo-soprano Polly Leech was a member of Dutch National Opera Studio from 2018 to 2020. During this period, she sang roles including Abra in Juditha Triumphans, Fidalma in Il matrimonio segreto, Tisbe in La Cenerentola and Romaine Brooks in Willem Jeths’ Ritratto. After completing the Opera Studio programme, she returned to Dutch National Opera for FAUST [working title], as Cherubino in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, for Haydn’s Missa in tempore belli, as Mercédès in Carmen, as La suora zelatrice in Suor Angelica and as La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi. She has also sung at Garsington Opera, Nederlandse Reisopera, La Monnaie in Brussels, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa and with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.

Polly Leech performs the role of the Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas in concert, on stage from 25 April to 6 May 2025 at Dutch National Opera & Ballet and in Arnhem, Enschede and Heerlen.
