Michael Wilmering

The Dutch baritone Michael Wilmering is at home in opera, song and oratorio repertoire. After studying at the HKU Utrecht Conservatory, he was affiliated with the Opera Studio in Stuttgart. He sang various roles at Opera Zuid, including Papageno in Die Zauberflöte and Junior in Leonard Bernstein's A Quiet Place. He also sang with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Bochum Symphoniker, Stuttgart Ballet, and at the NTR ZaterdagMatinee. At Dutch National Opera he has sung the title role in Denis & Katya (2022), Prince Ottokar and Kilian in Der Freischütz (2022), and Marchese d'Obigny in La traviata (2024), among others.

Michael Wilmering appears as Der Einäugige in Die Frau ohne Schatten at Dutch National Opera & Ballet from 23 April to 10 May 2025.
