Odin Lund Biron

Odin Lund Biron was born in the United States but trained as an actor in Russia at the Moscow Art Theatre. After graduating, he became a member of the company of actors at the Satyricon Theatre in Moscow. He also played Phil Richards in the Russian sitcom Interns. In 2013, the director Kirill Serebrennikov asked him to play the lead in his production of Gogol’s Dead Souls; he spent the following eight years as a member of the company of actors at the Gogol Center, run by Serebrennikov. The two have often worked together in theatre, film and opera productions, with Lund Biron playing Tchaikovsky in Serebrennikov’s film Tchaikovsky’s Wife, for example. In Der Freischütz, he played the part of The Red One, a character Serebrennikov added to the opera.
