Prix d'amis 2019 voor Elena Stikhina en Christof Loy
De Russische sopraan Elena Stikhina is de winnaar van de Prix d’Amis 2019 voor beste solist. Stikhina kreeg de onderscheiding voor haar interpretatie -en tevens roldebuut- van Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly, in de iconische productie van Robert Wilson. Stikhina maakte met deze rol in april haar debuut bij De Nationale Opera. De jury roemt Stikhina om haar “unieke vocale kwaliteiten en indrukwekkende prestatie”.
Elena Stikhina: “I feel immense honour and gratitude. I arrived at Dutch National Opera knowing that I was stepping into an iconic production and my duty was to do justice to both Puccini’s score and to Bob Wilson’s brilliant and timeless portrayal of our heroine ‘Butterfly’. It means a tremendous amount to me to know that you appreciated my efforts. Your thoughtfulness gives me motivation for the next steps of my career.”
De productie van Tannhäuser, geënsceneerd door de Duitse regisseur Christof Loy, ontving de Prix d’Amis voor beste productie. In 2018 werd Christof Loy’s enscenering van La Forza del Destino eveneens verkozen tot beste productie.

Prix d’Amis
De Prix d’Amis is de prijs van de Vrienden van De Nationale Opera voor de beste solist en beste productie van het afgelopen seizoen. De winnaar van de Prix d’Amis ontvangt een kunstwerk van de hand van Pieter Obels. De Prix d’Amis werd dit jaar voor de 26e keer uitgereikt.
Sophie de Lint, directeur van De Nationale Opera, maakte de winnaars bekend tijdens een speciale bijeenkomst in Nationale Opera & Ballet te Amsterdam. De prijs werd dit jaar uitgereikt door Sophie de Lint op 11 november 2019 in Nationale Opera & Ballet. De winnaars ontvingen een kunstwerk van Pieter Obels.
