The Dutch soprano Tinka Pypker (Das Zweite Mädchen) started her musical education already at the age of 5, playing the violin. Later, in her mother’s children’s choir, she discovered her voice. Ensuing this, she sang in numerous choirs and opera productions. She studied at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague with Lenie van den Heuvel and took lessons with Dorothee Mields, Peter Kooij and Pascal Bertin, in the context of the minor Old Music. She performed roles such as La Fortuna in Monteverdi’s L'incoronazione di Poppea and La Speranza in L'Orfeo. Moreover, she sings as a soloist in different oratoria and cantatas, such as Mozart’s Requiem and Bach’s Actus Tragicus. Apart from the baroque, Tinka also likes to sing contemporary classical music. In 2018, she sang the leading role in the talent opera Kijk op voor de val by Eyal Margalit, in the context of the Opera Forward Festival.
