Rafał Siwek

Bass

Polish bass Rafał Siwek made his professional opera debut at the Wrocław Opera in 2000, playing Ferrando in Verdi’s Il trovatore. He has been much sought-after internationally as a bass singer ever since. His repertoire mainly features the great dramatic bass roles as they were written by Verdi, Wagner and Russian composers, and he has worked with conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel and Kirill Petrenko. Siwek recently performed at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich and the Berlin State Opera in Germany, at The Royal Opera House in London, and in the Arena di Verona in Italy.

For his concert repertoire, he has worked with such ensembles as the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. When he performed at Dutch National Opera earlier, he sang the roles of Sparafucile in Verdi’s Rigoletto (2017) and Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni (2021).
