Mezzo-soprano Maya Gour, who has both an Israeli and a Portuguese background, completed her musical education at the Mannes School of Music in New York City. In the season 2019/2020, she sang the role of Tisbe in La Cenerentola at the Seattle Opera, the role of Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Sacramento Philharmonic and the role of Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel at the Music Academy of the West. Other roles in her repertoire include Lucretia in The Rape of Lucretia by Britten, which she sang in Oslo, the child in Ravel’s L’enfant et les Sortilèges and the Abdes in Puccini’s Suor Angelica. She has been a Young Artist at the Sarasota Opera. It is with great pleasure that we welcome her to the Dutch National Opera this season.
