The Puerto Rican-American tenor Ian Matthew Castro has recently completed his Master’s studies at The Juilliard School in New York. He has been awarded a scholarship from the New York Opera Foundation to refine his artistry with Dutch National Opera Studio.
Ian Castro: “I am excited to be a part of such an amazing programme. To be able to hone my craft in an intense yet nurturing setting will no doubt push me to new heights. The opportunities and guidance from Rosemary and my colleagues at Dutch National Opera will be invaluable for my growth as an artist.”
This season, Ian will sing the roles of Gastone in La Traviata and Signor Hervey in Anna Bolena with Dutch National Opera.
“I'm so excited to be working with such talented colleagues and even more excited to do so in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. I can’t wait to better myself as an artist as I train with some of the best names in the industry.”
