Vladislav Sulimsky
The Belarusian baritone Vladislav Sulimsky is a frequent guest at major opera houses such as the Staatsoper Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and Teatro Real in Madrid. Recent highlights include Shaklovity (Khovanshchina) in Berlin, Basilio (La fiamma) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor) in Munich. Sulimsky has also performed roles such as Count Luna (Il trovatore), Iago (Otello), Mazeppa, Tomsky (The Queen of Spades), Rigoletto, and Macbeth with companies in Baden-Baden, Salzburg, Stuttgart, Oviedo, and Wiesbaden, among others. Since his debut at the Mariinsky Theatre, he has sung title roles such as Eugene Onegin, Simon Boccanegra, Macbeth, and Gianni Schicchi. He has won, among others, the Rimsky-Korsakov Competition (2002) and the Giacomo Lauri-Volpi Competition (2010). His portrayal of Kovalyov in Shostakovich’s The Nose under Valery Gergiev was nominated for a Grammy Award.
