Nina van Essen

The Dutch mezzo-soprano Nina van Essen studied at the Dutch National Opera Academy. She has won prizes at CLIP (Concorso Lirico Internazionale di Portofino) and at the International Vocal Competition in ’s-Hertogenbosch. She was a member of the ensemble of soloists at Hannover State Opera, where she sang roles such as Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel, Ruggiero in Alcina and Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro. She recently sang at the Royal Danish Opera and Theater an der Wien. Later this year, she will make her debut at Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
