Nadezhda Pavlova
Russian soprano Nadezhda Pavlova began her career in the Republic of Karelia, where she studied at the Petrozavodsk Conservatory and subsequently became a soloist with the local opera company. In 2012, she joined the Perm State Opera, where she has since become one of the leading soloists. For her performance in the title role of Verdi’s La traviata, she received the prestigious Russian theatre award, the Golden Mask, in 2017. Under the direction of Teodor Currentzis, she performed the same role in a concert performance at the Elbphilharmonie, which was met with standing ovations. Pavlova has also appeared at the Latvian National Opera, performing roles such as Lucia (Lucia di Lammermoor), Blanche (Dialogues des Carmélites), and Jeanne (Jeanne d’Arc au bûcher). Her concert repertoire ranges from Bach to Strauss and includes Russian song cycles.
