Marina Viotti
Mezzo-soprano
After studying the flute, philosophy and literature, the Swiss mezzo-soprano Marina Viotti switched to a singing career, studying at the Conservatoire de Lausanne. She has sung at opera houses such as Zurich Opera House, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Teatro alla Scala and Staatsoper Berlin. She has worked with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Gustavo Gimeno and Nathalie Stutzmann. She recently made her debut in the title role in Carmen at Zurich Opera House. She also sang that opera’s famous ‘Habanera’ at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.
