Peggy Olislaegers is one of the leading independent dance dramaturges in Europe and provides artistic and strategic advice for both choreographers and institutes in the performing arts, working with Balletto di Roma (Italy), Huang Yi Studio (Taiwan), Alessandro Sciarroni (Italy), Nanine Linning (Germany) and Alida Dors (Netherlands) amongst others. She co-initiated the European project Act Your Age and PivotDance and is a mentor of the European project Performing Gender. From 2010 to 2016 she has been the Artistic and General Director of the Dutch Dance Festival/d Nederlandse Dansdagen. Since 2015 she is Artistic Associate of Rambert, Britain’s national dance company. Ted Brandsen and Peggy Olislaegers worked intensively together for the first time in 2017 during the first edition of the international ballet conference Positioning Ballet, initiated by Dutch National Ballet, which was co-designed and led by Olislaegers. Since then, Olislaegers has been involved as an external expert in innovative projects within Dutch National Ballet. February 2019 Dutch National Ballet appointed her Associate on Research and Development.
Peggy Olislaegers trained at the Tilburg Academy of Dance and is known for her articulate knowledge of dance and movement, both from the choreographer, performer and audience point of view. She has broad experience working both as a performer and creator in dance, theatre and music productions. From 1989 to 2006 she created more than 35 choreographies and theatre productions both independently and in coproduction with companies and festivals. From 2007 to 2011, she was the first resident dance dramaturge for Dansateliers Rotterdam (NL) pioneering the practice of dance dramaturgy. Her work has been described in various publications.
