Unravel
Choreography and performance Daniel Robert Silva
Music Thomas Beijer – Motion Games
“This work is an extract from my latest dance film project, Unravel.”
Daniel Robert Silva

Out in the Heartland
Choreography Tiago Barreiros, Beatriz Mira
Performance Alexander Álvarez Silvestre, Hà Nhi Trân
Music Beach House – PPP
Ballet master Caroline Sayo Iura
Presented as a work in progress by Dutch National Ballet’s Junior Company
“It happened so fast. A simple sound, a beat, and we split. Inside, with others. We were found and they taught us to believe in separation. Our hearts met. We found each other. And then we grew old. We heard the beat take melody. The melody became our life. And like that, life took place. We took place. It was beautiful, and full, and ours. And we knew it wouldn't be forever. It wasn't forever. I look back like I once looked to the future, as part of this moment. Amongst all transformation and change we were one, united to all that exists, out in the heartland.”
Tiago Barreiros en Beatriz Mira
Echoes of the Past
Choreography and performance Claire Tjoe-Fat
Muziek Gabriel Rajah – Echoes of the Past
“Going into madness.”
Claire Tjoe-Fat

Tu Me Manques
Choreography Kirsten Wicklund
Performance Bo-Ann Zehl, Robin Park
Music Giulio Caccini – Amarilli mia bella
Ballet master Caroline Sayo Iura
Dramaturgy Peggy Olislaegers
Presented as a work in progress by Dutch National Ballet’s Junior Company
Kirsten's work is guided by a sensation-based approach to the classical idiom. The dancers are encouraged to connect with how movements feel from the inside out as the classical form unfolds. There is a continuous focus on nuance and task-based ideas.
This duet creates an intimate space as it explores the intense journey of being equally present with oneself and another. The dancers act independently, while they work to become one body in time, space, and imagined landscapes.
Dismantle
Choreography and performance Beatriz Kuperus
Music Peter Sandberg - Dismantle
“I was inspired by Peter Sandberg’s music to create a piece that tries to express the beauty of human vulnerability. Based on my own personal experience, I wanted to explore the use of movement to express what words cannot communicate. I wanted to portray the struggle with our thoughts and emotions that can bring us down and break us apart, but also express the inner strength that makes us rise back up and keep going.”
Beatriz Kuperus

Al son de la nostalgia
Choreography and performance Alexander Álvarez Silvestre
Music Billie Holiday – I’ll Be Seeing You en I’m a Fool to Want You
“Be patient, it will come”
“It’s a felt memory, a way of feeling everything and letting the door open so everyone can see it too. I find vulnerability very interesting. The more vulnerable I am, the more strength I build because I don’t stop my emotions from making me feel the ways of the world. And in consequence, I grow.”
Alexander Álvarez

I feel so possessive, darling
Choreography Leo Hepler
Performance Alexandria Marx, Bela Erlandson
Music Bent Knee - Good Girl
“I feel so lucky to be able to explore dance with my friends every day. This project was a beautiful outlet for that feeling. We hope you enjoy the result!”
Leo Hepler

Reflection of Oneself
Choreography and performance Sebia Plantefève-Castryck
Music Kokoroko - Abusey Junction
“I started creating this solo with the intention of fully giving myself the space to reflect, to feel and to connect. To enjoy the freedom of being in a total flow state and forget fear. To just be.”
Sebia Plantefève-Castryck

nobody asked
Choreography Claire Tjoe-Fat
Performance Alexander Álvarez Silvestre, Sander Baaij, Rafael Valdez
Music TBA
“When you create anything, you have to have a certain level of audacity because nobody’s asking for it. You are putting it out there because you’re interested in it and you’re hoping to find people who are interested in your interest. In your head, you’ll maybe be saying to yourself “nobody asked for this”, “why am I doing this?” But eventually, if you do what you do well, people will start asking. And that’s a beautiful feeling.”
Claire Tjoe-Fat

Trilogy Anecdotes
Choreography Luca Abdel-Nour
Performance Vincent Fell, Guillermo Torrijos, Mila Nicolussi Caviglia, Bo-Ann Zehl, Hà Nhi Trân
Music Nader Abbassi – Nile Bride en Between Dusk and Dawn
“What started as an abstract piece quickly turned into a picture with the group of dancers that I was working with.
In Trilogy Anecdotes, I play with the idea of the three different perceptions to the same story. We always say that every affair has three sides: my side, your side and the truth. Everyone has a different recollection of how events unroll and how things shift and change and together we have to find a way to find each other in the middle, in true balance in order to make things work.”
Luca Abdel-Nour
