DUTCH NATIONAL BALLET AND CONCERTGEBOUW ORCHESTRA together AT SCHIPHOL
On 20 January, Dutch National Ballet and members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra opened the European Aviation Summit with a joint performance at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Principal couples Maia Makhateli & Remi Wörtmeyer and Igone de Jongh & Vito Mazzeo danced Two Pieces For HET, choreographed by Hans van Manen to music by Erkki-Sven Tüür and Arvo Pärt, and a pas de deux from Rudi van Dantzig’s Swan Lake, to music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
At the European Aviation Summit, European ministers for transport, the European Parliament and senior officials from the European aviation sector debated the new European aviation strategy. The summit was held under the Netherlands EU presidency 2016.
