QUESTIONS ABOUT VOUCHERS

Does Dutch National Opera & Ballet support the ‘Save your ticket’ campaign?

Yes, we do support the campaign ‘Save your ticket’. With this campaign theatres throughout The Netherlands call for your support. By donating the value of your ticket or converting your ticket into a voucher you will support Dutch National Opera & Ballet in these complicated times.  We sincerely hope that in the near future we will be able to welcome you back in our theatre again and enjoy all the beauty that Dutch National Opera & Ballet has to offer. What happens if I choose a voucher?

You will receive a voucher equal to the original ticket price, including booking or service charge. The value of this voucher can be used to purchase tickets for future productions by Dutch National Opera & Ballet. The voucher is valid for 13 months after issue. The validity period is stated on the voucher. If the ticket holder cannot use a voucher, the ticket holder will notify the organizer within a reasonable time. In that case, the ticket holder is entitled to a monetary refund of the original ticket price.

You can indicate your choice to receive a voucher via the restitution form sent to you in the e-mail informing you about our restitution policy. If you did not receive this e-mail, you can find the restitution form via this link: restitution form.

What can I use the voucher for?

The voucher is valid for all performances in Dutch National Opera & Ballet.

How long is the voucher valid?

The voucher is valid for 13 months after issue. This means that you have to book a new performance within that period. It is also possible to use the voucher for a performance that is planned after the validity period, as long as you book within 13 months after issue. If you have not used or were unable to use the voucher or a part of the value of your voucher within a period of 13 months, you will be refunded the (remaining) amount. You can also still decide to donate the remaining amount to Dutch National Opera & Ballet.

I have already ordered my series for season 2020-2021. Can I use my voucher(s) to pay for (a part of) my series?

If you have recently ordered a season series for 2020-2021, you can use the voucher to pay for (part of) your series. We will then reduce the voucher amount on your season series invoice.

 

QUESTIONS ABOUT DONATIONS

If I choose to make a donation, what happens to my donation?

Your donation will be collected by National Opera & Ballet Fund (Stichting Nationale Opera & Ballet Fonds). This Fund supports Dutch National Opera & Ballet, the singers, dancers, and all other employees. The Fund is a cultural ANBI, which means that your donation may entitle you to tax benefits associated with the Giving Law in The Netherlands. You can indicate your choice to donate your tickets via the restitution form sent to you in the e-mail informing you about our restitution policy. If you did not receive this e-mail, you can find the restitution form via this link: restitution form.

I would like to donate part of the value of my purchased tickets. Is this possible?

Yes, that is possible. On the restitution form you can indicate to donate all or part of the value of your tickets. For the remaining amount of your tickets you can subsequently choose to convert the value into a voucher or have the amount refunded to your bank account.

How can I make my donation tax deductible?

By converting your tickets into a donation to the National Opera & Ballet Fund (Stichting Nationale Opera & Ballet Fonds), you may be able to claim tax benefits associated with a donation to a cultural institution (cultural ANBI). For donations to a cultural ANBI, you may deduct 1,25 times the amount of the donation in the income tax return. The donation must comply to a number of conditions for the tax benefits to be applicable. Read more about your possible tax benefit on the website of the Tax Authorities

Processing the various restitution requests may take some time, but you will receive a confirmation of your donation from us before the end of season 2019-2020. This confirmation serves as evidence for the tax authorities, and may be used for your income tax return next year.

I would like to become a regular donor (with a periodical gift agreement) and settle the value of my tickets with my future annual donations. Is this possible?

This is certainly possible. You can contact the Fundraising & Relationship Management department about this via donateursadministratie@operaballet.nl. With a periodical gift agreement, you structurally support Dutch National Opera & Ballet for a (minimum) period of five years. Your periodical donation is annually deductible with a multiplier of 1,25. This means you may annually deduct the gift times 1,25 in your annual income tax return.

I have not received a confirmation email, has my donation been processed correctly?

If you have seen the web page where we confirm that your form has been received in good order, we will start processing it. You will receive confirmation of your donation from us before the end of season 2019-2020. This confirmation serves as evidence for the tax authorities.

I want my money back. How can I arrange this?

You can indicate your choice to have your tickets refunded via the restitution form sent to you in the e-mail informing you about our restitution policy. If you did not receive this e-mail, you can find the restitution form via this link: restitution form
Given the size and complexity of this administrative task, it could take some time. We therefore hope for your patience and understanding.

 

QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR SUBSCRIPTION 2020 - 2021

When will I receive the overview of my subscription for 2020-2021?

You will receive a letter by post in the first two weeks of May.

What exactly means the total amount on the overview of my subscription for 2020 - 2021?

This only represents the order you made for the season 2020 - 2021. This amount does not include any vouchers or any requested settlement within season 2019 - 2020.

When will this total amount for subscription 2020 - 2021 be debited from my account?

Because of the measures surrounding Corona, there is still a lot of uncertainty about season 2020 - 2021. Therefore, collection will not take place until further notice.

As a season ticket holder, when will I hear about the final set-up of season 2020 - 2021?

As a season ticket holder, you will be the first to be informed of any changes. At the moment, it is still uncertain when exactly this will be, as we are currently working on this.

Why do I get the request to donate or choose a voucher?

The measures concerning the Corona virus will hit our theatre, our performances and all our employees, dancers and singers hard. We hope that by choosing a donation or a voucher, you will help us to get through this difficult period. This will give Dutch National Opera & Ballet a helping hand and we hope to be able to enjoy all the beauty that Dutch National Opera & Ballet has to offer again in the near future, together with you.

How does Dutch National Opera & Ballet deal with its freelance employees in these times?

Dutch National Opera & Ballet stands for fair treatment of everyone who works for us, within the possibilities we have in this time of crisis. Government support to freelancers is limited. At Dutch National Opera & Ballet we feel the responsibility to show solidarity with our freelance colleagues in these difficult times. All freelancers (both national and international) currently working on an assignment by Dutch National Opera & Ballet, whom have engagements for the remainder of season 2019-2020 (until the end of June 2020), will be paid for all planned work as soon as possible.

It's compulsory to fill in an IBAN number, but I paid for the tickets with a credit card. How does this work?

If you live within Europe, we ask you to fill in your IBAN number so that the money can be deposited into your account. If you live outside Europe, please contact our cashier at kassa@operaballet.nl. They will take care of the handling of the tickets for you.

I checked the wrong option, how can I fix this?

In that case please contact our cashier via kassa@operaballet.nl.

I did not enter an e-mail address. How does the processing of purchased tickets proceed?

Our cashier has contacted you by telephone in the past period.

Do my fellow purchasers also have to make a choice?

No, they do not have to. The handling of the purchased tickets is done by the main orderer. He or she will also indicate the choice for the co-orderers. Unfortunately it is not possible to make a choice per person. However, it is possible to donate part of the amount and apply for a voucher for the remaining amount.

Can I change my choice later?

If you choose a voucher, you can still request a refund within 13 months. If your voucher is not wagered within 13 months, you will automatically receive your money back. If you have chosen to make a donation, you will unfortunately not be able to change it.
