Vote on The Shell Trial until 10 February!
Wonderful news! You can vote on The Shell Trial for the 2023 FEDORA Audience Award until February 10. The Shell Trial will have its world premiere at the Opera Forward Festival 2024 and is based on Rebekka de Wit and Anoek Nuyens’ theatre production De zaak Shell (2020).
In less than 2 minutes, you can vote for the FEDORA Audience Award. If The Shell Trial receives the most public votes, Dutch National Opera will receive the €10,000 Audience Award! Besides, The Shell Trial has been nominated for the Fedora Opera Prize, a jury prize that will be presented alongside the Audience Award on February 10. You have until that day to cast your vote.
The opera The Shell Trial harnesses the power of contemporary musical theatre to stimulate conversation about one of today’s most important social issues: the climate crisis. With your vote, we can invest in producing this opera as sustainably as possible. Besides that, the project The Shell Trial not only adheres to Dutch National Opera’s general sustainability policy but actively seeks additional opportunities for sustainable creation. The team is constantly conscious of its ecological footprint during this process. They will challenge themselves to make as many sets and costumes out of existing or recycled materials as possible.
