Marieke Reuten

Marieke Reuten studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. She sang in King Arthur (The Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London), conducted by Ton Koopman, and in two staged oratorios of Handel (with the Bozzolo Ensemble) during festivals in Germany. With Theatergroep Hollandia she performed in Ifigeneia in Aulis (music by Cornelis de Bondt).

Marieke has also performed song recitals with works by Schumann, Strauss, Brahms, Wagner, Copland and Berlioz. She performed as a soloist in Suor Angelica as La Zia Principessa and in The Little Sweep as Mrs Baggot. She also works with contemporary composers such as Joris Geurts, of whom she has sung song cycles.

At Dutch National Opera Marieke has performed solo roles in Der Rosenkavalier, Parsifal, Der Schatzgräber, Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, A Dog's Heart, Prince Igor and Madama Butterfly.
