Gi-Jun Nam was born in Suwon City, South Korea. He graduated from Suwon University, College of Music, with a major in opera from the Korea National University of Arts. After this, he graduated summa cum laude from the Conservatory of Bourg-la-Reine in France, with unanimity of the jury. Here he became proficient in the French language and was introduced to the French song.
Subsequently Gi-Jun left for Italy to develop himself as an opera singer with director Antonio de Lucia. In Italy he made his debut in L'elisir d'amore in the role of Belcore. He has also sung roles such as Enrico Lucia di Lammermoor, Schaunard La bohème, Papageno Die Zauberflöte and Aeneas Dido and Aeneas. In Korea he sang the title roles in Don Giovanni and Rigoletto, Il Conte di Almaviva Le nozze di Figaro and Renato Un ballo in maschera.
Now Gi-Jun is active as a member of the Chorus of Dutch National Opera.
