Everything is new
New and existing work
The NDT 1 program Everything is New combines several artistic voices. Israeli choreographer Roy Assaf is creating a world premiere for this program. His specific and distinct dance language contrasts sharply with the second work here presented: Marco Goecke's acclaimed piece Walk the Demon. Everything is New is completed with another world premiere by the Belgian-French choreographer Damien Jalet. As Assaf, a new face to the company.

Roy Assaf: world premiere
The Israeli Roy Assaf works as a freelance choreographer since 2010. Before that, he collaborated as both performer and choreographic assistant with Emanuel Gat from 2003 until 2009. Assaf is widely praised for his specific and outspoken dance language and received several awards. He created for, among others, Théâtre National de Chaillot, Jacob’s Pillow, The Royal Swedish Ballet and the Batsheva Dance Company. Assaf, a new face to the company, will create a world premiere for NDT 1 this season.
Damien Jalet: world premiere
The critically acclaimed works by Jalet are often visual stunning, kinetic and thought provoking. In May 2020, Jalet's debut creation for NDT 1 was canceled due to the corona crisis. In Everything is New, this world premiere finally becomes reality.
Choreographer Damien Jalet (Belgium) creates for companies worldwide, among which Les ballets C de la B, Paris Opera Ballet and Gothenburg Dance Company. In his works, Jalet interweaves dance with other arts such as visual art, theatre, fashion and music in a unique way. In 2018, Jalet worked as a choreographer for the movie Suspiria.
‘Mesmerized by the miracle of great dance’
