A look behind the scenes
Until 1 January 2021, we won’t organize guided tours in our theatre and 'decoratelier' of Dutch National Opera & Ballet.
In December 2020, we will review the possibilities of resuming the tours again. Please keep an eye on our website for up-to-date information.
Join a guided tour behind the scenes of Dutch National Opera & Ballet.
Here at Dutch National Opera & Ballet, we craft everything we need for our performances ourselves: constructing stage sets, creating costumes (including hats and footwear), making props...
A guided tour offers a unique insight into what happens backstage before and during a performance. The tour takes in the large auditorium, shows you what happens in the wings with all the technical wizardry, pays a vist to the ballet studios and the costume workshop.
INDIVIDUAL TOURS on Saturday
You can join a guided tour on most Saturdays from September to the end of June. Please contact the box office on +31(0)20 551 8054 to make sure there is a tour on your preferred date. Tours begin at the main entrance of Dutch National Opera & Ballet. Duration is ca. 75 minutes.
€ 9,50 / € 7,50 (reduced) per person. Holders of a CJP, Student Pass or Stadspass are eligible for the reduced price; you need to show the relevant pass with your ticket.
Guided tours after the lunch concert on Tuesdays
Dutch National Opera & Ballet offers a free lunch concert on most Tuesdays. Directly after a number of these concerts, you can also join a guided tour. See the special page about the lunch concerts for more information:
