Dutch National Opera & Ballet inside out

On Saturday 17 May, Dutch National Opera & Ballet is opening its doors during the Open House. Everyone is welcome – both young and old. Admission is free.

In short

During the Open House, the staff of the technical and creative departments will be conjuring up all sorts of fantastic objects, which will be on display in the foyers and on stage. While admiring them, you can experience what it’s like to stand on the biggest stage in the Netherlands – without stage fright! There are various activities for young and old, and numerous guided tours backstage. You can also pay a visit to the Scenery Atelier in Amsterdam Zuidoost.

And of course, there could be no Open Day without the stars themselves. Come and meet the dancers of Dutch National Ballet and the singers of the Chorus of Dutch National Opera in person.

The house is open between 11.00 and 16.00
Free admission

‘Now I know that a theatre performance is not just what you see on stage from the audience, but that there’s all sorts going on backstage during the performance.’
