The world through a child's eyes

Small Steps is an opera walk in Amsterdam-Zuid that lets you see the world with new eyes from a child's perspective. As a participant you make the tour individually, in the open air. In this way you can safely experience the beauty, comfort and excitement of music and theatre.

The world through a child's eyes

Small Steps is an opera walk in Amsterdam-Zuid that lets you see the world with new eyes from a child's perspective. As a participant you make the tour individually, in the open air. In this way you can safely experience the beauty, comfort and excitement of music and theatre.

Step by step

Small Steps takes you along the water that has connected Amsterdam with the rest of the world for centuries. Through headphones you can hear the uninhibited voice of a girl who raises the question if the world is developing in the right direction. Which way do we have to go in order to improve? And is it perhaps a first step to reflect on yourself? What wish do you have for the world?

With this project the creative team hopes to bring people together, without them having to be physically close to each other. They also want to inspire adults to be curious about strangers and the unfamiliar in order to re-explore the world. Step by step.

Practical information

Small Steps starts in Park Somerlust and ends on the other side of the Amstel River in the Martin Luther Kingpark. You can join for free, but please note that the capacity is very limited. Only 20 visitors can participate per day. You can register for a specific date and time slot and will receive information about the starting point via email. At the location, you will receive an audio-tour-device with headphones and you can start the walk.
