Sem Sjouke

Grand sujet

Sem Sjouke (Haarlem, the Netherlands) – son of former Dutch National Ballet dancer Rob Sjouke – started his ballet training at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. In 2011, he was a Prix de Lausanne finalist, afger which he was a member of the Studio Company (junior company) of the American Ballet Theatre for two years. He joined the corps de ballet of Dutch National Ballet in 2013 and was promoted to coryphée in 2016. His promotion to grand sujet followed in 2019.

At Dutch National Ballet, Sem performed countless solo roles in both the classical and contemporary repertoire, including the role of Hilarion in Giselle and the role of Alexander in Swan Lake
