Dutch National Opera & Ballet is located between Amstel and Waterlooplein, and can be reached easily by public transport, car or bike.
Dutch National Opera & Ballet, at Amstel 3, is easily reached by public transport. The metro from either Amsterdam Central Station or Amsterdam Amstel Station takes just a few minutes to get to Waterlooplein station (exit Stadhuis/Muziektheater). Tram lines 9 and 14 (from Amsterdam Central Station) stop right in front of the door, at the stop called Waterlooplein.
From 3 October to 3 January, the Stadhuis and Blauwbrug entrances of metro station Waterlooplein, most near to our theatre will be closed. The entrance Hortusplantsoen, 300 metres away, is open, but there is no lift! Nieuwmarkt station, 400 metres away, is open and does have a lift (exit Nieuwe Hoogstraat is closest to Dutch National Opera & Ballet).
From 4 March to 11 April 2017 the metro station Waterlooplein will be closed completely in the evening from 20.30. You will then be able to get on and off the trains at the metro stations Weesperzijde or Nieuwmarkt.

It is not exclusively for the use of theatre patrons on performance evenings and can therefore often be very busy. We advise latecomers to avoid using this car park.
