DUTCH NATIONAL BALLET DANCES in front of THE NIGHT WATCH

To promote the new ballet programme Dutch Masters, Dutch National Ballet is dancing in front of the Night Watch in the Rijksmuseum. In the promo film, three couples dance their way through the galleries of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, ending their journey in front of the Night Watch.

The couples are dancing works by Hans van Manen, Rudi van Dantzig and Toer van Schayk. The three great masters of Dutch dance, known internationally as the ‘three Van’s’, are the most famous choreographers in Dutch dance history.

Dutch National Ballet’s programme Dutch Masters presents masterpieces by all three choreographers, and is also a tribute to Toer van Schayk, who is celebrating his 80th birthday this month.

The dancers in the film are Igone de Jongh & Jozef Varga, Artur Shesterikov & Anna Ol, and Clemens Fröhlich & Jessica Xuan. The film was directed by Mathieu Gremillet.

Dutch Masters will be presented in Dutch National Opera & Ballet from 14 to 25 September.
